Doigs of Glasgow makes a big return to Volvo for fleet upgrade04/09/19
Doigs of Glasgow, one of the best known names associated with quality coach hire in Scotland, has taken delivery of two Volvo B8R SB3 coaches, as well as two B8R SC5s, as replacement vehicles to upgrade its fleet.
Iain Forsyth, Co-Owner and Director at Doigs of Glasgow, said: “We have been providing coach hire in Scotland for 28 years and it is extremely exciting to take on these new Volvo vehicles to continue providing our renowned premier service.
“The B8R is the perfect coach for our fleet, with the offer of 72, 36 and 30 seat options available to our passengers, we are able to provide more versatile excursions. With the B8R SB3s, we’ll be planning on running high capacity school contracts and trips and the SC5s will be used for higher end, prestige bookings such as corporate outings and golf tours.
“The flexible seating in the SC5 is perfect for our passengers, with the option to have a table installed being particularly ideal for the golf tours and corporate trips we organise. The extras such as the built-in kitchen on the 30-seater with the drinks servery and fridge unit will help us make sure that our passengers are well looked after on their journeys.”
Volvo’s B8R SB3 and SC5 coaches offer an extremely fuel-efficient drive. The inclusion of the Euro VI engine will help keep operational costs down, while always providing a high quality and comfortable experience for the passengers. The stylish design of the Sunsundegui bodywork pairs perfectly with the modern interior and the B8R chassis ensures that our drivers will have a positive and safe experience when working, which is also extremely important to us.”
Craig Connolly, Retail Bus and Coach Sales Manager for Volvo Buses, said: “It has been a real pleasure working with Andy and Iain once again with these latest additions to their fleet. The B8R range offers a unique, high quality and stylish experience which is perfect for Doigs of Glasgow’s passengers and drivers alike.”
