The Gartocharn, Dunbartonshire, based operator has been purchasing Volvo coaches for more than 20 years and currently has a fleet of 16, which is exclusively Volvo.  A further five vehicles of the same specification have already been ordered for delivery in early 2016.

Destined for use on the company’s Scottish holiday tour business, the coaches have Jonckheere bodywork and include all the latest interior features to ensure the high level of comfort expected by today’s seasoned traveller.

Steve Nicols, Transport Manager for Lochs & Glens, said:  “At Lochs & Glens, it is our policy to replace five of our coaches each year on a rolling basis to ensure we continue to offer a high quality ride for our customers and once again we’ve turned to Volvo to meet our needs. Our loyalty to Volvo is down to several reasons including the overall quality, reliability as well as the excellent fuel consumption, which the B11R is renowned for.

“As usual James Hyde, who is Volvo’s Retail Sales Director and looks after our requirements, has been great throughout the specification and purchasing process and we would undoubtedly look to them again when we’re planning to add further vehicles to our fleet. After sales back up and support is particularly important to us and we have an excellent relationship with our local Volvo Bus dealership at Glasgow West Cardonald, which was another key reason for going with Volvo again this time.”

James Hyde added: “Lochs & Glens is one of our longest established and loyal customers and we’re delighted to be continuing to work with them, supplying top quality vehicles to meet their needs and those of their customers. We know that fuel efficiency and passenger satisfaction is extremely important to them and believe the Volvo B11R Euro 6 ticks all the right boxes.

Loch & Glens has been established for 36 years and as well as specialising in Scottish tours, the company also owns a number of high quality hotels throughout the region that form an important part of their holiday services. The company offers pick-up points for its holidays to customers the length and breadth of the UK.
