Although a long established Volvo customer, this is the first time Lawmans has taken vehicles with Jonckheere bodywork and availability and fast delivery played a key part in the company’s decision to select the B11R.
Julian Lawman, General Manager of Lawmans, said: “Our Volvo Bus Retail Sales Manager, Jo Standbridge, was able to offer us the perfect delivery scenario for our two new coaches and we knew the vehicles were going to be available as and when we wanted them.
“We were also keen to acquire Euro 6 vehicles with the additional length and seating capacity. We particularly liked the look of the Jonckheere bodywork and this, combined with the Volvo chassis, met our requirements perfectly.”
Both new B11Rs will be used for Lawmans’ tours of the UK and Ireland as well as for corporate hire work. Each vehicle includes all the latest features expected by today’s seasoned coach traveller including TV screens, DVD player, hot drink servery, fridge and toilet as well as leather headrests and trim on the seating.
Julian Lawman added: “Good afersales back-up is also very important to us. We have an excellent relationship with Volvo Truck & Bus in Wellingborough, and this was another of our main reasons for selecting Volvo again this time.”
Jo Standbridge added: “Our Volvo B11R is gaining a strong reputation with operators the length and breadth of the UK for its performance and fuel consumption and many are purchasing based on recommendations from their industry colleagues.
“With Lawmans, they needed a guaranteed delivery date for the vehicles and both Volvo and Jonckheere we able to meet their deadline. They are an established and loyal customer and we’re delighted they have turned to us once again for their vehicle requirements.”
The B11R is at the centre of Volvo’s next generation of coaches and the key benefits include the renowned Volvo I-Shift transmission, automatic function check and trouble-free maintenance. It also benefits from a range of Volvo’s well known safety features, such as the powerful EBS controlled disc brakes and a multiplexed electronics system.
