The family run business already has a number of Volvo vehicles in its fleet, including B7, B9, B12 and B13.  This is the first time the firm has selected a B11R and this is the sixth vehicle with Sunsundegui bodywork the company has taken in the last five years.

Darran Hill, Director of Hills Coaches, explained:  “We were looking for a 53 seat vehicle to add to our fleet and following positive feedback we’d received from other operators, decided to take a look at the Volvo B11R. In addition to the excellent reports on the operational performance and fuel consumption record of the Euro 6 chassis, we particularly liked the look of the Sunsundegui bodywork, so had no hesitation in purchasing the vehicle.

“Aftersales back up and service is vitally important to all coach operators and at Hills Coaches we are no exception.  We have an excellent working relationship with our local Volvo Truck & Bus dealership, Hartshorne in Walsall, where we receive great service and this was another key reason for our choosing Volvo again this time.”

The new coach includes the latest comfort features that today’s coach traveller expects from its operator, such as TV screens, hot drinks servery, fridge and toilet, as well as full air conditioning.  A reverse camera is also fitted for the convenience of the driver and safety of passengers.

David Porter, Retail Bus & Coach Sales Manager for Volvo Bus, said:  “Undoubtedly the reputation of the B11R is gathering momentum with operators throughout the UK, as increasingly customers are ordering this vehicle following the good reports and feedback they have received from their industry colleagues.

“Hills Coaches are long established customers of Volvo Bus and it’s great they’ve chosen us again due to the operational performance record of the B11R and the overall service they receive from us.”

Described as being at the centre of Volvo’s next generation of coaches, the key benefits of the B11R include the renowned Volvo I-Shift transmission, automatic function check and trouble-free maintenance.  It also benefits from a range of Volvo’s well known safety features, such as the powerful EBS controlled disc brakes and a multiplexed electronics system.

This year sees Hills Coaches celebrating its 50th anniversary and the company enjoys an excellent reputation for its reliability and private hire services.
