New Volvo adds to Perryman’s low floor fleet13/05/14
Family run business Perryman’s was established in 1973 and has operated for 40 years in the Scottish borders and in Northumberland. Its recent B7RLE bus purchase continues a long and successful association with Volvo that dates back to 2001.
“We have successfully operated Volvo vehicles for a number of years, so when the opportunity came along to purchase this MCV bodied B7RLE we had absolutely no doubt that it would suit our fleet,” explained Operations Manager, Roddy Perryman.
“The vehicle has been in operation for a few weeks and we are absolutely delighted with it. This is our eighth MCV bodied vehicle and once again the quality of the vehicle is excellent. We really like the Volvo MCV combination.”
Perryman’s new vehicle is assigned to the company’s main depot in Berwick-upon-Tweed and is operating on various commercial and subsidised routes, spanning across the borders, Northumberland and even up the coast onto Edinburgh.
“We’ve already had superb feedback from our customers and from the drivers,” he continued. “We operate 43 vehicles, with an average age of less than four years old, but everyone is keen to experience our latest Volvo bus.”
Roddy Perryman added, “The Volvo dealers at Washington and Broxburn are superb and we also receive excellent body support from MCV. All of those factors make our purchasing decision much easier.
Perryman’s Buses new B7RLE has a capacity of 45 and each seat is fitted with a 3-point safety belt to ensure the safety of all passengers. The bus is specified with a Hanover LED destination screen, a digital tachograph, GPS overlay and 9 individual CCTV cameras, including a reversing camera.
