“The Volvo B11R is the ideal size for our requirements,” explained New Bharat Coaches’ Director, Taj Dhaliwal. “We’ve had the Volvo B12B coach before and the B11R is the nearest vehicle to it in Volvo’s current range.
“Long-term familiarity with the brand wasn’t our only reason for specifying Volvo; it was more a case of the fuel economy that could be achieved with this new vehicle. We tend to cover quite a lot of miles and we want the best fuel results for our business.
“Volvo Bus Regional Coach Sales Manager, Jo Standbridge, was very enthusiastic, she was keen to demonstrate the ability of Volvo’s B11R and we were impressed by what we saw. We look forward to seeing how the vehicle performs going forward.”
New Bharat Coaches’ new coach is specified with 53 passenger seats. It features Volvo’s fuel efficient, D11C 11-litre diesel engine, rated at 450hp with the Volvo I-Shift gearbox.
Entertainment facilities include a radio, CD & DVD player and TV monitors. The B11R is also equipped with climate control and a servery.
Jo Standbridge commented, “Our understanding of New Bharat Coaches’ ongoing requirements was obviously the key factor in this order. It’s excellent to deliver a new Volvo coach to an operator who hasn’t specified Volvo for a few years.
“The new vehicles are being used on the company’s range of different London coach tours and give Volvo good exposure in and around the capital.”
