Having taken delivery of an identical vehicle last year, Lakeside Coaches are well accustomed to the B9R product. With more than half of Lakeside Coaches’ twenty seven vehicle fleet now built on the Volvo chassis, they also have extensive experience with the wider vehicle range.

“I trust Volvos,” commented Neal Hall, Lakeside Coaches’ General Manager. “The two B9R’s we had in 2012 have proven to be reliable and very fuel efficient, so when it came to finding another vehicle for use on our GB Tours contract, another new B9R was the obvious choice.”

The new vehicle, which was sold to Lakeside Coaches by Volvo’s Regional Sales Manager, David Stevenson, began tour work across the UK and Ireland from 1st March 2013.

“I’ve known David Stevenson for many years,” explained Neal Hall. “It was good working with him again on this occasion.”

Developed to meet the highest standards of passenger transport, Lakeside Coaches’ new Volvo B9R is one of the most popular vehicles in the range. Powered by Volvo’s 9 litre D9B rear engine rated at 380hp, it is also fitted with the intelligent Volvo I-Shift 12 speed automatic gearbox as standard and uses the EBS-5 brake system, all of which combined make the B9R an incredibly fuel efficient vehicle, meeting Euro 5 emission standards.

Exterior features of the vehicle include Alcoa Durabright aluminium alloy wheels and eye catching livery, whilst the interior features 49 leather trimmed passenger seats, servery, reversing camera, toilet, two TV screens, DVD player and a climate control system. The new vehicle even features a personalised vehicle registration plate NH13LAK.

“Back-up and support, provided by Thomas Hardie in Deeside and the Hartshorne dealership in Shrewsbury, has always been superb,” continued Neal Hall. “They know our requirements having dealt with us over many years.”

Commenting on Neal Hall’s decision to take on a new Volvo B9R Sunsundegui, David Stevenson said, “Lakeside Coaches have had some really positive feedback from their passengers about the B9R they purchased last year and with favourable fuel consumption, it was the perfect choice.”
