Phil Hudson has taken over responsibility for the North West and Northern Ireland, whilst Lee McMahon is Volvo’s new coach sales contact in the North East region.
Lee (38) joins from Moseley PCV Ltd and has over 14 years’ experience in the coach industry. Based in Doncaster he will fill a role following the retirement of Philip Illingsworth covering the North East, Yorkshire, The East Midlands and Lincolnshire.
Married with two children and a third on the way, Lee is no stranger to a busy lifestyle and relishes his new opportunity. “This is obviously an excellent opportunity for me to work for a major manufacturer and demonstrate my sales abilities,” explained Lee. “I’ve already begun work and am getting out there and meeting many of the operators.”
Phil (47) joins Volvo Bus from VW, but has extensive commercial vehicle experience from his time at Mercedes. Family man, Phil has two children with his partner and is excited about the next chapter in his life. “It’s a key role working for a prestigious brand like Volvo and it’s something I’m really looking forward to,” explained Phil, following his appointment.
The new role will see him cover the North West, North Wales, Shropshire and Northern Ireland taking over a role vacated by Duncan Crosby, who has recently departed Volvo Bus to take up a new role at Volvo North and Scotland. “Duncan’s are certainly big shoes to fill, he is and has been a key figure in the industry for many years, but I welcome the challenge and look forward to meeting our customers.”
“It was important that we sought out the right type of personality in the individuals we were bringing into our experienced coach sales team,” explained James Hyde, Volvo Bus Coach Sales Manager (UK & Ireland). “Both Lee and Phil were excellent candidates and have already been hard at work in their respective sales areas.
