Volvo reliability key for Cropley

Cropley Coach based in Lincolnshire is now operating a new Volvo B9R 13-metre coach, with Sunsundegui bodywork, following the success of two other Volvos purchased on the same chassis.

“Over the past two years, we’ve taken delivery of two Volvo 55-seat B9Rs and they’ve been good reliable vehicles for us,” explained John Cropley. “We wanted the same or similar specification again, so we’ve gone with the 53-seat B9R coach.

“The vehicle is working on some of our popular International tour work,” continued John. “It’s just been to France and it is scheduled to go away again on its return. When it is covering those kind of long distances we need the vehicle not to let us down. We get that reliability with Volvo.

“We’ve been specifying Volvo since 1988, so we know their products, services and personnel very well. Regional Sales Manager, Jo Standbridge was extremely knowledgeable and supportive all throughout the purchasing process, right up to the vehicle’s delivery and that makes a big difference as well,” added John.

The Volvo B9R is a mid-range, economic, adaptable and safe coach, designed with excellent driving properties. Its rear-mounted D9B engine, capable of 380hp, delivers generous torque across a wide rev range, whilst electronically controlled air suspension provides a high level of comfort.

Standard safety features include Volvo’s Electronic Braking System (EBS), which combines with all-round disc brakes and Volvo’s VR3250 compact retarder to give a rapid reaction time and shorter stopping distances, as well as Hill Start Aid, Emergency Braking Assistance and Brake Blending.

Also featured on Cropley’s new B9R are two TV screens, CD/DVD player, sound system, air-conditioning, toilet and 53 seats with 3 point safety belts. The vehicle is specified in white and features Cropley’s instantly recognisable livery.

“Cropley Coach like the B9R,” explained Jo Standbridge. “They’ve specified that chassis previously and the vehicles they’ve had have proven a sound investment for them.

“We look forward to working with them again in the future,” she concluded.
