Regency Coaches’ new Volvo B9Rs take the number of vehicles in their fleet to 22. Both new coaches are specified in white and feature the company’s instantly recognisable gold livery.
The new vehicles, which were sold by Volvo’s Regional Sales Manager, Richard Mann, are Regency’s first ever new full sized coaches and will be used on varied work from school contracts private hire and UK and continental tours.
“We’ve had six Volvo B10Ms in the past and they’ve served us well,” explained Regency Coaches, Managing Director, John Durrant. “Richard Mann approached us and worked very hard on this sale. Added to that, we have a great existing relationship with our local Volvo dealer MC Truck and Bus. The support they give us is second to none. Their parts and servicing support was a big part of our decision in selecting the Volvo chassis.”
The Volvo B9R is developed to meet the highest standards of passenger transport. Powered by Volvo’s 9 litre D9B rear engine rated at 380hp, it is fitted with the intelligent Volvo I-Shift 12 speed automatic gearbox as standard and uses the EBS-5 brake system, all of which combined make the B9R an incredibly fuel efficient vehicle, meeting Euro 5 emission standards.
Exterior features of the vehicle include Alcoa Durabright aluminium alloy wheels and eye catching livery, whilst the interior features 55 leather trimmed passenger seats, servery, reversing camera, demountable toilet, two TV/DVD players and climate control.
“It’s important to be a recognisable face for the operator and be able to meet their requirement when they set them out,” explained Richard Mann. “Regency Coaches have specified Volvo in the past, but not for some time, so it is pleasing from our point of view to re-establish this relationship.”
