The new vehicle is now part of a fleet of twenty seven coaches owned by Lakeside Coaches, of which more than half are by Volvo.
“Most of our vehicles are built on the Volvo chassis, so I trust them,” explains Neal Hall, Lakeside Coaches General Manager. “I took on a pre-owned Volvo B9R last year, which proved, as Volvo always does, to be powerful, reliable and very fuel efficient. So having been very impressed with it, when it came to finding another slightly smaller, flexible vehicle for use as an executive coach, a new B9R seemed to be the obvious choice.”
The new vehicle, which was sold to Lakeside Coaches by Duncan Crosby – Volvo’s Regional Sales Manager, will be used for tour work and private hire across the UK and Ireland.
“I approached Duncan Crosby regarding the purchase of our new B9R,” Neal continues. “I’ve worked with him for a number of years and I have every confidence in him. He knows what we need and his service and recommendations are always spot on.
“Back-up and support, provided by Andy Mageer at Thomas Hardie in Deeside and the Hartshorne dealership in Shrewsbury, has been second to none, inspiring confidence and allowing us to run our business.”
The Volvo B9R is the most advanced coach in the market, developed to meet the highest standards of passenger transport. Powered by Volvo’s 9 litre D9B rear engine rated at 380hp, it is also fitted with the intelligent Volvo I-Shift 12 speed automatic gearbox as standard and uses the EBS-5 brake system, all of which combined make the B9R an incredibly fuel efficient vehicle, meeting Euro 5 emission standards.
Exterior features of the vehicle include Alcoa Durabright aluminium alloy wheels and eye catching livery, whilst the interior features 49 leather trimmed passenger seats, servery, reversing camera, toilet, two TV/DVD players and a climate control system.
