Commenting on the announcement, Steve Dewhurst said, “I have certainly seen a lot of changes in the 36 years that I have worked in the business. I am not only proud to have been able to play my part in continuing the fantastic Volvo tradition in this marketplace, but also to have worked with so many wonderful  colleagues and customers, sharing the friendship, sense of community and humour that is synonymous with our great industry.”

He added, “The time is right for me to take this step and I would like to place on record my sincere thanks to the Volvo organisation who have supported me fantastically over the years and given me such wonderful opportunities. The bus and coach business gets into your blood and, though retired, I will continue to follow future industry developments with keen interest from the sidelines.”

Noel Reculet, Senior Vice President Volvo Bus Europe said, “The UK and Ireland remains a vital market for Volvo Bus.  Steve has been an integral part of the success we have achieved over the last 25 years.  I would like to thank him for all his commitment and professionalism and wish him well in his retirement”.
