Planit Travel Director, Graham Tkaczyk, a former Scania and Setra salesman, turned to Volvo Bus to provide reliable vehicles to support his growing private hire and tour operations.

“With my industry background, I’m fully aware of the sales market and what’s out there,” he explained. “It’s great to see healthy competition, but Volvo certainly had the edge on this occasion, mainly because they could provide a 53 seat tri-axle coach, with a toilet and guarantee us the quality back-up and support that we require.

“MC Truck and Bus at Hythe couldn’t have been anymore supportive and I also have to mention Volvo Bus Regional Sales Manager, Richard Mann. He showed great determination and persistence – he put in the hard work and that really does make a difference.”

Planit Travel’s new pre-owned Volvo 9700 Prestige Plus has a loaded weight capacity of up to 24 tonnes and joins two sister coaches in the company’s eight vehicle strong fleet. All three of Plan-it Travel’s Volvos also have deliberately similar registration plates, FJ09 XGO, FJ09 XGP and FJ09 XGR.

The new 9700 Prestige Plus has already begun private hire work, as well as extensive international tour travel. “With our new Volvo coach going out onto the continent I needed to be sure that it would be reliable and that if anything did go wrong, we’d have the support to get it sorted,” continued Graham Tkaczyk. “Volvo gave me that guarantee and reassurance.”

Volvo’s popular 9700 tri-axle Prestige Plus features the rear mounted Volvo B12B 13 litre engine connected to the proven I-Shift gearbox. Electronically controlled disc brakes (EBS), electronic stability program (ESP) and predominantly positioned brakes lights add to the extremely high safety benchmark established in the construction of the vehicle.

Inside, features include 53 Volvo TS2000 leather trimmed Comfort Plus seats, fitted with 3-point safety belts, a demountable toilet, servery, TV monitors, GPS satellite navigation and authentic concert quality sound, thanks to the Sound and Vision on-board entertainment system.

“Graham knows the sales industry extremely well,” said Volvo Bus Regional Sales Manager, Richard Mann. “Over the last 12 months Planit Travel have had three Volvo 9700’s, which I think says an awful lot, not only about the quality of our product, but also of the back-up and support we provide.

“The latest Volvo coach is already in international operation and I’ll certainly be keeping in close contact with Graham for as and when he’s ready to purchase some more vehicles,” continued Richard Mann.
