The new vehicle is the company’s first new B13R, although certainly not their first Volvo. It is their fourth vehicle specified with the Prestige Plus 9700 bodywork and the sixth Volvo overall.
“We already have 07, 08 and 09 plate Volvos which we are delighted with,” explained Chandlers’, Margaret l’Anson. “Our satisfaction with those products vehicle played a huge part in our decision to purchase this latest coach – a B13R.”
Chandlers’ new coach is being used on the operators’ popular International tour programme with visits to Austria and Switzerland already scheduled in. “It’s an ideal specification for International tour work with 46 comfy passenger seats and optimised leg room,” continued Margaret l’Anson. “It has a busy schedule lined-up so we’re looking forward to seeing how it performs.”
The vehicles seats feature stylish leather trim and generous spacing, while two TV monitors, a demountable toilet, a servery and a CD/DVD player, all add to the passenger experience.
A three axle, 13 metre, high specification coach, the vehicle is fitted with the powerful and fuel efficient Euro 5, Volvo D13C engine. It has a fully integrated driveline, including the Volvo I-Shift and Volvo RS 1228C rear axle.
“This order from Chandlers represents some excellent repeat business for us from a valued customer,” explained Volvo Bus Regional Sales Manager, Jo Standbridge. “They have specified Volvo many times in the past, but this is their very first new B13R with 9700 bodywork.
“With a busy schedule planned it will be a great opportunity for the product to come into its own and impress.”
