Joining Volvo Bus, following three years in a similar position with Dawson Rentals in Milton Keynes, Richard is no stranger to the coach market.
“My existing experience should stand me in good stead,” explained Richard Mann, “It is an excellent opportunity for me to work for a market leading company and demonstrate my sales abilities”.
Richard takes over the role following last year’s untimely death of Volvo Regional Coach Sales Manager, John Dover and he is sensitive to dealing with a customer base which is still somewhat in shock following John’s death.
“It’s certainly not the circumstances I would have chosen to take up a new position. I definitely have some huge shoes to fill, but I hope to get out there and meet the operators face to face and continue the excellent work which John was doing,” he explained.
With a degree in marketing and a background in recruitment before moving into coach sales, Richard likes to put his communications skills to good use when meeting with clients.
“I love dealing with customers and with the excellent support of the Volvo range, added to the aftermarket care, I’m confident that with the market now beginning to pick up there will be many opportunities in the South East”.
Based in Letchworth in Hertfordshire, Richard will split his time between operators in the South East and the Volvo Bus and Coach Sales Centre in Coventry.
Describing himself as somewhat of a workaholic, he explained that he is keen to speak to operators currently running Volvo vehicles, as well as those who have not yet tried Volvos before.
