The motoring expert is a longstanding supporter of Teenage Cancer Trust and was on hand to offer some advice to Volvo’s Derek Mayor and Barry Mace, who later set off on an incredible 1180 mile non-stop, 3-day challenge.
Quentin was keen to know all about the challenge and the incredible amount of money that has already been raised by Volvo Bus. He also spoke of his personal association with the Teenage Cancer Trust and his delight at the support work that Volvo have been doing.
Derek Mayor, Volvo Bus Service Manager UK and Eire is driving his classic two seater Morgan sportscar, fitted with a Rover V8 3.900cc engine, whilst Barry Mace, Volvo Service Manager for Eire is astride his BMW R1200 GS motorbike.
Having set off early this morning (8 September) the duo have already visited several dealerships in England and Wales and travel by ferry to Ireland this evening. The tour then takes in Volvo Dealerships in The Republic and Northern Ireland, as well as Scotland before heading home to the finish back in England at Warwick on Friday (10 September).
Along the way Derek and Barry will be picking up cheques representing monies raised by individual dealerships. The Classic Road Tour is one of several fund raising initiatives undertaken by Volvo this year in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust.
