The latest technology features on all four vehicles on the Volvo stand including the first appearance of the new 13 litre Volvo 9700 13 metre coach. The luxury executive Prestige Plus version is on the new B13R chassis platform combining flexibility and outstanding quality featuring the new D13C 460 hp Euro 5 compliant engine.
Lightweight and extremely versatile, the Volvo B9R chassis has become a volume seller and is featured on the stand with the new facelift Plaxton Panther 12.8 metre coach in addition to the latest styling offered on a Sunsundegui 13 metre coach. All the vehicles provide exceptional driveability with high levels of passenger comfort offering operators even more choice to fully meet their operational requirements.
Leading Volvo Hybrid technology is at the forefront of the Volvo B5LH with a Wrightbus Eclipse Gemini 2 body utilising a 5 litre, Euro 5 diesel engine and a 70 kW electric motor in Volvo’s parallel driveline. Together with the energy recovered from braking this combines to deliver significant fuel savings offering operators an effective, clean alternative that considers tomorrow, today.
During the show Volvo will be announcing a number of operator initiatives and new promotions for the 2011 Coach season designed to ensure vehicles operate at peak performance. These include soft products as well as maintenance and parts promotions.
“Initiatives from Volvo are designed to provide operators with the very best choice of vehicles designed to have lower fuel consumption and lower emission levels than ever before,” explained Steve Dewhurst, Volvo Bus UK Managing Director.
“Such is the technology employed that all products benefit from increased levels of reliability, availability and lower whole life costs are being delivered, more than ever, in close partnership with bus and coach operators hence our show theme: ‘Volvo Bus – Getting there, together’.”
The Volvo Bus UK stand will be in Hall 5, Stand Number D30 and there will also be a Volvo B9R 12.57 metre Jonckheere coach and a previously owned Volvo B7TL double deck with Alexander body in the outdoor display area.
