Specified to luxury Prestige Plus standard, the 9700 features Volvo’s latest rear engined B13R chassis platform that combines flexibility with even greater stability, handling and passenger comfort. It benefits from the new, highly responsive Volvo D13C engine, a 13 litre, in-line,
6 cylinder, Euro 5 compliant turbocharged diesel with intercooler delivering an impressive 460 hp.

In tandem with the Volvo I-Shift gearbox and a perfectly matched double rear axle, the result is a driveline that provides excellent driveability, low fuel consumption and low environmental impact. Setting the standard in passenger comfort, the vehicle has electronically regulated independent front air suspension, wider spaced rear air suspension bellows and a stiff frame design to deliver excellent ride comfort.

The Volvo 9700 also boasts a luxury interior with theatre style floor and large tinted side windows, providing excellent vision for all passengers. Volvo TS2000 Comfort Plus superior reclining seats - either 53 or 55 depending on layout - come with leather headrests and piping, cushion adjustment, seatback tables, magazine nets and 3 point seat belts. High capacity air conditioning, with individually adjustable air circulation vents at each seat, offers additional personal comfort, while LED floor level lighting and aircraft style overhead luggage compartments are fitted as standard.

Volvo’s outstanding Sound & Vision on-board entertainment system features 19" front and rear retractable TFT monitors with onscreen GPS information, DVD, CD and radio system with driver and courier microphones, as well as individual passenger and driver sound selection settings.

The ergonomic driver’s area has a comprehensive and clear information display and instrument layout with large window areas and wide angle mirrors provide excellent visibility throughout the vehicle.

As you would expect from Volvo, the vehicle sets the benchmark for safety with Front Impact Protection (FIPS), Knee Impact Protection (KIPS) and Front Under-run Protection (FUPS) in addition to an electronic stability program (ESP), electronically controlled disc brakes (EBS), anti-lock brakes (ABS) and an anti-slip regulation system (ASR).

Volvo’s Transport Information System Dynafleet, offering full functional reporting, including fuel efficiency, service schedule, driver technique etc is also part of the complete vehicle package.

“Brimming with style and advanced safety features throughout, the 9700 Prestige Plus has been refined even further following consultation with operators as part of Volvo’s responsive approach to product development,” said Nick Page, Volvo Coach Sales Director.

“With the benefits of the new B13R chassis, the Volvo 9700 continues to sets the benchmark for executive class coaches, delivering excellent passenger comfort, along with stylish exterior lines and even greater operational efficiency.”
