The family owned and run company, based in Auchterarder, purchased the new coaches, a Volvo B11R Jonckheere and a fully integrated B11R 9700, to supplement its existing fleet which is 80 per cent Volvo.
The coaches will both be predominantly used for private hire, corporate and UK touring work.
Director of Docherty’s Midland Coaches, Colin Docherty, said: “We needed additional coaches to fulfil our growing corporate contracts, and the 9700 we have purchased is actually the vehicle we saw at Euro Bus Expo in Birmingham last year.
“In particular, the 9700 is a stylish and aesthetically pleasing coach and we know that the B11R chassis offers excellent fuel consumption.
“Previous experience combined with good reliability, build quality, availability and performance, meant we had no hesitation choosing Volvo once again for this latest purchase.”

Established in 1947, Docherty’s Midland Coaches is now operated by the second and third generations of the Docherty family, Jim and Edith and their three sons.
With more than 70 years’ experience in the business, Docherty’s Midland Coaches offers many services including transporting local football teams, sightseeing tours, group excursions, corporate event hire, or society outings.
