Donoghue’s of Galway adds first Volvo to busy fleet24/08/16
Family owned and operated Donoghue’s of Galway has taken delivery of a new integral Volvo Bus B11R 9700 Euro 6 coach.
This is the first Volvo the Irish tour operator has purchased, after viewing the Volvo B11R 9700 at Busworld Kortrijk 2015.
Joe Donoghue, owner and manager of Donoghue’s of Galway, said: “We required a new coach for our growing fleet and we were looking for something that would meet our passenger capacity needs and standard of comfort. We were very impressed with the build quality and high specification of the vehicle after seeing it at the show and decided to give Volvo a go.
“Our Volvo Retail Bus & Coach Sales Manager, Dave Porter, was great throughout the whole process from selecting our vehicle right up until final delivery and we’re delighted to be adding this new fuel efficient integral Volvo to our fleet.”
Destined for use on a range of contract work, the new B11R 9700 is 12.3m in length with an independent front suspension arrangement and has a 49 passenger seating capacity. The coach also comes with the Volvo Driver Support System (DSS) which is fitted as standard.
Joe Donoghue added: “Since taking delivery and the vehicle going into operation, our customers have also been making some very positive comments about how much they like the coach and what a smooth ride it is, which is great to hear.”
Dave Porter said: “This is the first time we have sold a vehicle to Donoghue’s of Galway and we’re delighted they’ve chosen our integral B11R 9700 to completement their mixed fleet.
“The reputation of the integral B11R 9700 is continuing to gain momentum among operators for its excellent fuel consumption and overall performance. We’re sure this new coach will help them continue to provide excellent service to their customers.”
